Obama or Romney

If the election was today, I would vote for Obama. To me, Obama is the lesser of the two evils primarily because of the immigration policy. He passed the DREAM act which enabled immigrants to study and go to college and universities. It also allowed them to get a work permit. I looked at Romney's immigration policy and he wasn't clear on it. He said that he wouldn't end it, but he favors, "Self deportation" which means that immigrants will leave on their own because they can't find work in the US. So, basically, he's going to make dreams and goals so unattainable, that we're pretty much forced by ourselves to leave because we can't reach it. He will pretty much dangle it in front of us and as soon as we get close to it, throw it away, farther and farther away. This affects me personally as I am an immigrant. I want to study at a university and reach my goals. I do not want a president who deliberately stands in my way of achieving my dream. It boggles me that a country that was founded and built up from immigrants hundreds of years ago, want to suddenly now, kick them out.

I looked up what both candidates were capable of, and watched both their conventions. Personally, Obama is someone my family could relate to. He struggled to obtain his education, struggled with student loans, and was very family oriented. My family struggles too, and we identify a lot with president Obama. He understands struggle, and what it means to achieving something you want. His immigration policy didn't receive much priority, but he's working on making it possible for us to study in universities and land a career that we've dreamed of. He understands what we go through, and therefore, I feel that he will do the most for the people of this country that struggle to accomplish their goals. Now, Romney, is someone far out of reach. They claimed they struggled, yet Ann Romney has never worked a day in her life, and Romney was very well off. They don't understand struggle, because they've never been through it. If we want a president who knows what to do for the middle class, who knows what it feels like to be one of us, then Obama is the answer.
